Charles City Parks and Recreation Department, operates and maintains more than 10 park areas and also administers various green spaces in the city. The department also operates the Lions Field Pool and Wildwood Golf Course. It offers a wide range of summer programs for individuals of all ages. Charles City Parks and Recreation Department s various summer programs include long day care program, Monday through Friday, for children in grades kindergarten through five. The department also offers various programs in association with The Learning Center and the Young Men's Christian Association. It offers golf lessons and tournaments for individuals up to age 16. Charles City Parks and Recreation Department also provides various swimming lessons in association with the Red Cross.
