Related to this previously mentioned point, the shopkeeper provides attentive customer service to ensure that your visit there will be a pleasant and worthwhile one.

Out of the locally owned bookstores in Charleston, Pensees is by far the best. The proprietor is very knowledgeable and is happy to help you find whatever you are searching for, whether in store or online, in any way that he can. The store has a large selection of all genres and has a great atmosphere. I would recommend Pensees to anyone looking for a great place to expand their literary horizons!

This is a wonderful store! A reader's haven, full of rare old books and history, as well as bargains and used books. The owner has helped me find several old historic books I couldn't find elsewhere.

They relocated 2 years ago to 502 6th Street in the Charleston Square.
