Charleston Christian School

In 1981, Charleston Christian School opened its doors. Currently, CCS offers classes in four year old kindergarten through eighth grade. Charleston Christian School places God in the center of education. As such, the Bible is the very foundation of every academic discipline. It teaches that God is the Creator, has a purpose, and sustains that purpose. This foundation spurs us on to achieving high academic standards and employing only well-qualified faculty. Charleston Christian School seeks to provide a strong biblical framework with an academic emphasis that complements the teaching of the home and the church. CCS is dedicated to training young people in Christian growth and development. To do so, we aim to foster spiritual and moral growth, stimulate intellectual development and encourage creativity. As an extension of Christian homes and as a partner of other Christian churches, we strive to help children develop their full potential as they become successful, confident, joyful citizens of God's Kingdom living in the present world. Charleston Christian School has from its beginning year ( 1981 ) determined that its mission was academic excellence within a Christian framework. Two things should be noted about that statement. The first and more important is a Christian framework ; without this emphasis the school has no reason to exist. The second is academic excellence. The task of a Christian is to strive for excellence in all things, education not excepted! This first responsibility of the school is to hire qualified instructors who have a desire to see students make significant academic progress every year. Secondly, the teachers and the Board must obtain the curricula and use the methods best suited to that purpose in every subject area. We believe that we have done that and must continue to evaluate and change as necessary.
