I spent a great deal of time sorting through my clothing, donating items incompatible for consigning, and freshly laundering and pressing nearly 60 items I took to the Mt. Pleasant location last month. Slightly disappointed to learn that they do not allow consignors to pick up unpurchased items at the end of the 60-day period (they donate everything except evening gowns), I went ahead and committed to their terms as I was certain that what I had taken to them had a decent chance of making some money. Today I called to find out how my first month turned out. I learned that not only do I have only $9.30 in my account, but that they had only kept 4 items, FOUR, of the nearly 60 I brought to them. They indicated that the rest was donated, even though I opted to pick up items they couldn't use. Why didn't they call me to pick them up? While I cannot recall each and every item specifically, I can note that there was a leather jacket, a suede LLBean coat, and 4 high-end 3-piece suits, in addition to Talbots clothing, and other higher-end department store labels. Most of these items were purchased in 2010 as well. While I haven't heard back from the person responsible for sorting the items, I am livid enough from this experience to do whatever I can to discredit their reputation and discourage others from consigning and/or purchasing from them. I hope to see some retribution from them for tossing my clothes aside without my permission, and if so, I will update this review. If not, consignors beware.
