I recently retired, moved, and bought a condo in a community managed by Sentry Management, Inc. Several of my old neighbors had encouraged me to move to be closer to them and had even found a condo in their community that they thought I would love. Well I did love the condo, but while discussing the matter, they told me several stories about the poor management services they were experiencing. I feel embarrassed to even write this, but I think it exemplifies best why I made the decision to not purchase that condo: my friends warned me not to open my drapes or shutters on Friday midday since the landscapers were notorious for publicly urinating in plain sight (these condos are at the rear of the property). Despite numerous complaints to the landscaping company, the HOA, and the management firm, nothing had changed! Well that certainly helped deter me from purchasing a condo in that community. When I discovered the condo I subsequently bought, I raised this issue with the Sentry Manager. He was shocked that this practice was still occurring (he had heard about it) and assured me that such behavior would never be tolerated in a Sentry community. Well it has now been almost 8 months since I have moved and I can proudly say nothing like that has been observed. In fact quite to the contrary, the contracted services are performed extremely professionally by very pleasant young men (one of whom actually helped me carry a large box one day), and our Community Manager routinely makes contact with me to ensure I am satisfied. Two of my friends are now actually trying to sell their condos so that they can move into my community. I think that about says it all.

I am the Board President of a Sentry managed community. The 24/7 online availability of our financial information is great. The information is current and up to the minute, not just the typical "end of the month" reporting. This is a wonderful feature that few other HOA management companies offer. Great feature Sentry!
