Provided by YP.comWe recently had the cylinder head on our Suzuki four-stroke outboard get clogged up with salt, and corrosion lead to a water breach. The boat started misfiring at low RPM, and I checked the spark plugs, and we had a spark plug full of water on the middle cylinder and milky oil. I called Tyler at Tri County Mobile Marine and explained the above issue, and based on the make/model and prior experience, he immediately diagnosed the problem over the phone. He put a new cylinder head on for us, and the boat now runs perfectly. From the time we dropped it off, Tyler communicated his progress to us via text and call (communication you don’t see with dealerships), and he finished the project honestly, quickly and at a reasonable cost. He did several oil changes on the boat to ensure all water was out of the engine; he didn’t mention this at pick-up, but I noticed later that he changed all anodes at no extra cost, which is key in saltwater. I feel he went above and beyond, and I’m confident we chose the right marine mechanic. Use Tri County Marine with confidence.

Provided by YP.comI waited days for my appointment & this guy didn't even try to fix my boat. When I asked him to fix the engine - he shrugged his shoulders & said he didn't know why it was having problems starting & to call him if I have more problems. He left without even trying to fix the problem! I called him back a week ago because engine still wouldn't start - he still hasn't returned my call. Charleston has many boat mechanics - don't waste your time with this guy. He obviously won't stick with you if you have a serious engine problem.
Randy “B”, “this guy” is myself, Tyler Teal. During the Summer months I am usually booked 2-3 weeks out. I was able to fit you into my schedule last minute because I was on another job nearby. Normally, my trip charge to come to a boat is $125.00. I charged you nothing, because I started your engine right up with a little starting fluid and did not feel right charging you for such a simple fix. There was nothing wrong with your engine at that time, other than it being an older engine, which sometimes needs a bit of a kick like starting fluid. When I left you, you had a running engine, were very happy, and thanked me for NOT charging you. As to you calling me back about it, I never received a voicemail from you, as I would certainly have responded. You could have also have emailed me, as you know it is very easy to find my contact information on Google. I sincerely wish you had tried a little harder to speak to me before posting a negative review on this site, in regards to a free service call and starting your engine. You can always reach me at 843-469-1921 or at [email protected]. I would greatly appreciate you removing this review regarding what I remember, very differently, as a positive experience. I will also be trying to contact you as well, All My Best, Tyler Teal Owner, Tri County Mobile Marine Services, LLC

Provided by YP.comI loathe to share as a female I cannot change a tire on my car much less fix my boat. I especially do not enjoy finding a repair person, b/c it is difficult to trust strangers to do a great job at a fair price. Tyler Teal with Tri-County is the best! Professional, honest, and my boat was fixed in a timely manner for a price that did not destroy my budget! Ladies, Tyler is the man to call if your boat is in need of repair. I will definitely contact him again in the future.

Provided by YP.comI needed boat repair on my older 1988 Bayliner that has a Cobra 350. I like cheap boats because if they break they are cheaper to fix. Well I called this gentleman and he was just that a professional Gentleman. He quickly diagnosed the alternator was dead and was back in a few hours and had me up and running, plus did a quick service/tune up that made it sound like new. I would definitely recommend Tyler for your Boat needs. Cheers!

Provided by YP.comI have a boat with an Evinrude motor. I found this company on here this morning and they just left….In an hour they figured out why the motor was running hot, replaced the thermostats and it runs great… Not only did the tech give me free advice on tips to keep the motor in better shape, the repair charge was cheap….AAA company!

Provided by YP.comThis company is impressive! They came out the same day I called and in just a few minutes after arriving said I had a bad starter on my 26ft Crownline. Next day I was back on the water without having to trailer it to a boat yard. They were clean, neat, professional and on time!

Provided by YP.comThis guy Tyler is great, not only did he fix my idle problem, he ran me thru a check list of things I should do to keep the motor ship shape! NO Boat Yard has ever done this!!! I would recomend this guy to anyone who is not happy with dropping off their boat and getting hit with a 500 buck charge for no help, and not much else!
