Headquartered in Jeddah, K.S.A., it has since grown to be one of the largest chemical distributors in the Middle East with over 40, 000 Metric Tons of various chemicals sold each year. In response to the market requirements and the intense industrial growth witnessed in the region, the idea of bulk distribution of liquid chemicals was conceived. The result was Arabian Chemical Terminal ( ACT ) which was the first commercial bulk storage terminal in Saudi Arabia. Erected in 1987, it helped catapult Chemtrade to be the leader in its field and changed the playing field forever.
