Located in Charlotte, N.C., Idlewild Elementary School is a magnet school that has an enrollment of over 700 students in grades kindergarten through five. The school is affiliated with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and offers a variety of subjects, such as art, music, computer, physical education, math, English, social studies and science. It maintains various organizations, including a book club, Red Cross and Right Moves for Youth. The school also has a student council that communicates with parents, teachers and administrators regarding student issues and needs. It organizes several extracurricular events, including pizza nights, spaghetti dinners, field trips, picture days and book fairs.
