Before my husband and I actually moved to Charlotte and were still looking around, one stop we had to make was a supermarket to determine whether or not Charlotte had olive oil and Italian canned whole tomatoes. If not, we weren't moving here. When we finally moved to Charlotte, 15 years ago from New Jersey, we were lost without our ethnic neighborhoods in which to do our shopping. We stumbled upon Pasta & Provisions and immediately were relieved to see all our familiar favorites; Parma procuitto, fresh mozzarella, etc. The aroma when you enter the store is fantastico! Unfortunately, we are not one of the wealthy Charlotteons and cannot afford to patronize the store as often as we'd like, but just to know that it's there for special occasions, is a special treat for us northerners.
