Run! These people are scammers and they will rip you off. They have countless bad reviews and complaints on BBB. Their 5 star reviews are phoney. Dont give them money, if you do, you will never get them on the phone again. If you value your belongings, book with someone else.

Choosing Public Moving Services was a huge mistake. When the movers showed up, they placed many restrictions on what we could bring that were the opposite of what the salesman stated we could bring. Once they left with all of our belongings, they refused to return our calls.

They do not offer prompt service. The salesman stated that since we were moving from near Baltimore to North Carolina, we would receive prompt service since they frequently made many trips between the two areas. However, once they took our belongings and a lot of our money, all of a sudden, they had a problem filling up one truck to make the trip, claiming it could take up to 10 days.

Our pick-up date and time -- even the back-up pick-up date and time the company selected -- were ignored. Our pick-up was delayed by the company 3 times, resulting in us breaching our sales contract with our buyer for not vacating our home in time. When Public Moving and Storage did finally show, it was close to 10:00 p.m. with a small box truck that was already 1/2 full of another customer's stuff. They could not get all of our things onto the truck, and at 1:00 in the morning, exhausted and facing work the next morning, we were forced to call in outside help to move half of our household into a neighbor's garage. Then came the long wait to get Public Moving and Storage back to free up our neighbor's garage and consolidate our things for delivery to our new home. Again, there were several delays for one reason or another. The salesman had promised us a smooth delivery in "about a week." This move took a month from start to finish. Meanwhile we spent the holidays without furniture or any of our holiday decorations. Though I was assured by a customer service agent that my situation was unique and that this many delays were not the norm, I was not offered any concession. In fact, my intelligence was insulted by one a sarcastic customer service agent (ironically named "Angel"), my apparent reward for the calm and patient manner in which I had approached these problems. The cost for the move was way higher than the estimate based on the itemized furniture and box count list I had accurately provided two days before the start of the move. The company offered no explanation about why its software had generated an inaccurate estimate. The company never provided us with an invoice containing our total cost, only a series of invoices with subtotals misleading us to believe that we were actually within the estimate. The movers themselves were hard-working, and all of our things ultimately made it to their destination. This is why there is 1 star and not zero.

If I had an option to give it 0 stars, I would choose that option.
We had a terrible experience with this agency. First and foremost everyone is so rude just after you have decided to do business with them. They have no procedure in place. We got our stuff after one month. we moved our stuff from Columbus to Chicago(5 hour drive). We were told it will reach same day or may take couple of days extra. When they came in they broke common lights in apartment building. We have been following up with them for past 2 weeks. No success yet on that.

This is the worst moving company if I could give this company -5 Stars I would but I have to rate it so I have to write it at 1. this company they have told us nothing but lies and about where are stuff is and the truck is broke down and will be fixed ascsoon as the part makes it there. And what about all these review that are bogus they're all made up they're Crooks they tell you one price and then they charge you another they don't have you read and they tell you that your stuff will be here between 3 and 18 business days but really it's past the 18 business days and they give you nothing but excuses of the trucks broke down in South Dakota or waiting on a part as soon as the part gets there the truck will be sent out and you will get your stuff and then the phone calls are never returned your always speaking to one person either Emma Richie and dispatch or Angela in customer service Alex Buckingham the senior coordinator don't know b******* and all they can say is we're not sure let us call you back nothing but excuses and it seems to be that there are quite a few other people who are getting scammed by these Crooks so if I were you I would stay far far away from them do not hire them they are the worst moving company in the world and I would not wish that upon my worst enemy

I used services from this company 3 times for the last 12 years, and my last move was just 2 days ago. I'm trying to recall what wasn't right and I can't. Everything from calling to the company to order service till saying thanks to the movers after job was done was outstanding.

I have nothing to say that's bad at all about this moving company they work hard and efficiently and great to get the job done because the workers were determined to get the job done and to get all my items moved and unloading the truck as quickly as possible I thought that it would be more of a process but you guys made it awesome to be able to have a great experience with you guys and I just want to say that I am very thankful to be able to work with you the sales representative worked with me from start to finish money was that a question because I needed to get it done and it was hard work that was put into this move therefore I will proceed to continue to be moving with you guys for my next move which will be in January and now I know who to call I appreciate it and thank you guys

They were late in picking up the furniture, but now they haven't delivered it, though it was supposed to be there around October 1. Now they are saying "the truck broke down and is being repaired" which we do not believe. Stay far away from this company!!

We have yet to receive our things. I have left 3 voice mails and sent 3 e-mails and have yet to receive a response. My finace has also called several times and not yet received a call back.

I am very pleased with Public moving because of their courtesy and professionalism in the manner they handle their clients. I had to move my second born daughter and I was held up with work. I wanted someone who was committed and I could trust in helping me move her. That is when I came across Public movers. They were a notch higher. I appreciate for everything you did. You have a dedicated and superb team.

This company is cheater. Never show up on time, given estimate of $ 1500 moving cost but charged $1700. Left half of the stuffs. Now i have to call some other company. It is double cost for me. They gave us very hard time. Please do no not trust this company.

I did a move and They helped me arrange the process start to finish, starting with an in home estimate. It was very close to two other in home estimates and the rate was competitive for sure. On moving day, the guys rocked the show despite several storms.

First class team. Public moving and storage was not only on time but flexible as I added more items to the move. They took great care of all my breakables and didn't damage a thing. Not something any other mover I used in the past can ever say. They were careful, helpful and made a normally stressful situation run smoothly and professionally. Thrilled I found them.

Everything was as scheduled and up to expectations. All my worries about delays and unfair means were in vain. People were nice and friendly and reassuring - right from sales to account person.

I have used this moving company 3 times in the past. The movers arrived on time, neatly packed all of my furniture & other valuable items. Each of my moves went really smooth and stress free. These movers are very skilled and experienced

Public moving and storage is the company that I chose. Plain and simple they were the most upfront and honest about everything that we talked about. They definitely earned my business and I was glad to give it to them is it a great job moving me and my family to our new home. I ended up paying a little bit more than what I was quoted upfront about the prices with me and everything I would definitely recommend this company

I was moving from Florida to Texas and hired Public Moving and Storage. Their rep was phenomenal. She was responsive and 100% great. The one who helped me in planning the details of my move was perfect too. Everything was absolutely on time. There were no issues.

the team (3 guys) was punctual, very professional, courteous, very diligent in their work! They listened to directions as to where the furniture and multiple boxes were to be located. I would highly recommend this company and would definitely use them again for any move I may have in the future

It was a hot day and I had to BEG them to stop long enough to rehydrate! They moved quickly and efficiently, which one always appreciates when paying by the hour! This move was emotional for me because of moving the last of my deceased parents belongings. These 2 gentlemen were very sensitive to this and comforting to me as we went along

Everything that was taken apart for the move was promptly and correctly put back together! The movers followed my written floor plan for the placement of the furniture and all items were in place when they left the premises. They were courteous and very helpful.
