As one of the oldest educational institutions in North Carolina, Saint Patrick Catholic School provides a variety of academic programs for more than 300 children in kindergarten through grade five. Founded in 1887, the school offers instruction in religion education, mathematics, science, social studies, Spanish, physical education, computer applications, music, art and language arts. It also provides an accelerated reader program and conducts spelling bee competitions. Saint Patrick Catholic School maintains an athletic association, book club, student council and parent-teacher organization. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
