Provided by YPmobileHaving lived in the nearby apartment community, I have had the fortune to come to this restaurant or takeout regularly. Service is friendly, and food is excellent. The small location, tucked in the alleyway between Fresh market and Red Rocks allows for a nice intimate dining experience. Hopefully the new Fresh Market renovations don't destroy that atmosphere.

Provided by YP.comA lot of people like it, but it's overrated here. The food was very blah. There are better Thai places in charlotte

Provided by YP.comI've been eating here for years, so some of the negative reviews really surprise. I have always found the staff at Thai Orchid to be more than gracious and attentive. They are always happy to greet you with a smile. As far as the food goes, I believe most of the dishes to be at least average or above. I definitely favor some dishes over others, but I can say that about most restaurants. I have a rotation of 4 Thai restaurants I go to depending on what I’m in the mood to eat, as some do certain dishes better than others. The dishes I order at Thai Orchid are definitely above average. I have eaten at most of the Thai restaurants in Charlotte, and I eat a lot of Thai food when I travel, so I think I have a pretty good understanding of the cuisine. I would not hesitate to recommend Thai Orchid. You can absolutely get a tasty Thai meal in a friendly neighborhood-like atmosphere.

Provided by YP.comI'm a little shocked at some of the negative reviews I’m reading. I live very close to Thai Orchid and frequent the restaurant. The owners are always there smiling when you walk in and I have never encountered rude servers. The overall "vibe" in the restaurant has always been good. One time it felt a little warm in the back room and I mentioned it and the owner promptly turned down the air. He then came by two more times to check on us. The food is exceptional as well. I eat at Thai restaurants all over the city and when I travel and they, without a doubt, have some of the best Thai dishes I have ever had. They are consistent and have been for the 2 years I have been going. If you are looking for good Thai, ignore the bad reviews and check them out for yourself. I highly doubt you'll be let down.
Thank you for your kind response, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Provided by YP.comI lived in California before coming to Charlotte. I was desperate to find a Thai Restaurant that equalled the ones is California. I have to say that upon finding this restaurant and meeting Nudi (one of the owner) I have been pleased with it's menu and its staff. She greets me by name everytime I come to eat there which isn't often since I live in Gastonia. The Quality is unmatched and there isn't a long wait for food even when it is busy. I recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic Thai experience!
