Carter founded the practice of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. His son, Dr. B. Christian Carter, joined the practice in August 2006. Both physicians graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School and completed Ophthalmology residencies there. Both physicians completed graduate fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Both physicians are certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. The practice includes all routine and surgical eye care for infants and children and adults with alignment problems or double vision. Dr. Bruce T. Carter retired September 30, 2022. Dr. B. Christian Carter practices as a solo practitioner.
