This company primary customer Is UVA Health System. They handle the logistics for a wide range of products for UVA. They trasfer items from warehouse to delivery to various location at UVA Health, pickup blood sample, and delivery medication thru out the state. A few years ago UVA discontinued the handling of logistics as cost saving measure. UVA Health employed drivers and had there own fleet of vehicles. They terminted the drivers and disposed of the fleet of vehicles. They put the work out to bid. CSI won the bid by being the lowest bidder able to perform the work. They are able to keep cost down by claiming employees are 1099 independent contrators. They shift the fuel cost and vehicle maintance, and capital expense to the "independent contrators." They pay the "independent contracter" below levels needed to pay cost and maintaine a living. Some time after expenses, drivers make less that minimum wages. If they wear out there vehicle or catch on to how they are being taken advanage of management attitude is there will allways be someone else to replace them.
