Dr. Kaufman is a clinical optometrist at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was appointed to the faculty in 2014 and is involved in training residents, fitting specialty contacts and running a primary care clinic. He has a particular interest in diagnosing and treating keratoconus. Dr. Kaufman grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Kaufman got his undergraduate degree from the Southern Illinois University. He then went on to earn his doctorate at Indiana School of Optometry. After graduating for Indiana he continued his education by completed a residency in ocular disease at the University of Kentucky. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an active member in the Virginia Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
