I am not from the Charlottesville area. My Envoy broke down and towing service recommended them as one of the beet in the area. I am pleased the customer service was outstanding, and I am difficult to please. Being a female I have trust issues with mechanics, but they quickly put me at ease. Quickly assessed problem, showed me the damaged areas and went over costs. They did all the repairs which included new alternator, and replacement of leaking water pump, I added an oil change and coolant refill. All work was completed the same day and with no surprises. The owner Dave did the repairs personally and took care of checking my tires and putting air in all of them. I left feeling like I had a great day and had made some new friends. I also received a price break for my military status. They give a discount to active duty and retired military. Thank you Dave and team for making an upsetting emergency feel like a fun field trip and getting me back on the road, no emergency lodging overnight required. Charlottesville is lucky to have you!!

My professor recommended me to this place, awesome. My power steering rack is broken, other place wants to charge me $1000 for it, but Straight Up fixed it for less than $500. Fast and easy to communicate with. Very pleasant experience.

I heard about Straight Up Automotive through a long time friend. I have been bringing my Honda to Dave ever since. Dave is not only thorough but with every oil change does an inspection of my car. I really appreciate him keeping my car up to date. He always gives me a fair price and I trust him with my car. Now my parents and friends are bringing their cars to Straight Up Automotive as well.

I am so happy that we have found Dave to work on our car especially now that it is reaching an age where it needs more work done. Dave is honest and straight forward about what work needs to be done. He will suggest different approaches depending on what you can spend and is the best pricing I have found in town. For the first time ever I refer to someone as 'my mechanic'. We are getting ready to move out of state, but when I am back in town you can bet I will have my service booked with Dave.

I felt like they were really working with me to meet my needs not just to make a buck.

Dave (owner of Straight Up Auto) is the man to see for auto service. I've been to several auto shops in Cville. Then after getting hosed at Pohanka Acura, I found Straight Up Auto. Dave has the expertise, he's hard-working, he goes above and beyond to exceed all expectations, and he's patient (I'm clueless, yet he explains everything to me). Dave has done my Acura RSX's brakes, rotors, belt, water pump, spark plugs, oil changes, etc. And when my clutch finally goes, you can be sure I'm taking it to Straight Up Auto. Thanks Dave!

Took my mercedes in for service. David combed thru everything and told me exactly what my options were. What was needed ASAP and what could wait. No pressure, just honest and he laid out my options with no sales pitch to do more than I should. My car is running great and everything he did was affordable and done on time. It always makes me nervous dropping off my car at the big places where I always feel I am being sold more than I really need. David shows me what needs fixed and I can see the problem with my own eyes. I have been to him 3 times now and never surprised by my bill. He does what he says and is honest about his price! I have lived in Charlottesville 25 years and this shop is a find:)!

We were having trouble with our Honda Odyssey on the way into Charlottesville to visit family. A friend recommended Straight Up. I called from on the road late that evening and Dave said to come in first thing the next AM. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and get us on our way. Straight Up is more than just a name, it's the way he does business. You can tell he has a passion for working on cars and doing quality work for reasonable prices. If we lived locally, Dave would be our go to guy for all our car repair needs.
