When Tastings started in 1990 it was the only fully integrated Wine Shop/ Wine Bar/ Restaurant on the East Coast. About twenty years later, there is still only a handful of establishments in the U.S. such as Tastings. Besides being an outstanding wine shop in its own right as well as a fine restaurant, Tastings offers a large selection of wines by the glass. Wines are offered in flights for experimentation with a meal for a modest fee over the retail price of wines in the shop. Something different, fun and good

If you are into wine and food, or ever wondered what the big deal about "wine and food" was all about, check out the bistro called Tastings in C-ville. This is the place. I have been here several times. They've got great wines and great food. The owner (looks like Santa, but no red suit) is the real deal. I like to learn new stuff, it's fun. And I learned stuff here. My beef was outstanding. Not fancy, but efficient. Good service, not stuffy. If you're not into wines, do the flight of three anyway because it's fun. (Saturday special tastings at lunch are a local secret. Very cool.)

Horrible service

We had one of our worst dining experiences ever at this place. The food and wine selection were very good but the service was so horrible we left no tip. Our server rolled her eyes at us when we asked about our dinner after waiting almost 2 hours and blamed us for not telling her earlier that we needed to catch a show and wanted to hurry things along.
