As a family member of an employee who worked at the Hamilton ME office and passed away, I was very disappointed in this office.

I first left a voicemail. I had to make 3 calls before I got a response regarding my brother's death. On the second call the secretary stated, "He didn't call you back, I gave him the message."

My brother's job at this office was to speak with the family and would be very disappointed in their response to his only sibling. Even if the death was a person that he knew he was always professional and would have never ignored a family member as it might be emotionally hard.

I called the Knoxville ME office where he was sent for his autopsy and they were very nice and emailed and called me when they got my autopsy request form and also offered their condolences. They also called when they were ready to email the results to me. They had stated I could get it from the Hamilton County office who requested the autopsy but I told her I felt they would not be as efficient or responsible. I hope the staff at the Hamilton County ME office will learn that no matter how close you are to a patient the family should not be ignored and to do their job as My Brother would have.

The Knoxville ME office did an awesome job and I am grateful for their assistance.
