The Tally Ho, established 1939, is located only 100 feet off Bestor Plaza inside the Historic Chautauqua institution. One of the historic buildings in the institution, this building is over 120 years old, and offers a charming, traditional Chautauqua experience, while offering some of the amenities of home. Old boarding house rooms have been combined and renovated to offer efficiency, 1 and 2 bedroom suites. Many upper level suites have skylights to let natural light in. Most suites have access to a private or semi-private porch. There are ground level rooms and suites available for hands cap access, as well as some suites available for those with pets. Pet deposit is required. Please note-- this is not a modern facility. The building is 125+ years old with nooks and crannies, antiques and an older feel. Every suite is unique due to the traditional architecture and structure of the building. For those who enjoy an historic atmosphere in older building this is the perfect experience. Located in the center of the CHQ grounds. 2 Min walk to the Book Store, Collage Shops 3 Min walk to the Stores in the St Elmo 5 Minute walk to the New Amphitheater and Library Within 10 minute walk to 3 beaches and the public boat docks Additional Fees- Please note that the Tally Ho is not a part of the Chautauqua Institute. The Institute charges a gate pass fee which is not part of the rooms fees. This gate pass is necessary to gain entry into the private community, and to get into various functions on the grounds. IN addition, the Institute does not allow cars on the grounds. This is a walking, biking, and scooter community.
