I brought my car in for an estimate. The manager, Mike Sendak, researched the required muffler replacement, and had the technician re[lace the bad muffler within the time and price of his estimate. I had asked that they inflate my tires while in the garage. He examined the tires while the car was on the hoist and stated he could not inflate the tires as it would be iunsafe to add air to the tires in the condition they were in, and requested that I look at them. Sure enoughl they had cracks in the tread and sidewall. He told me just how old they were, and suggested they be replaced very soon. I appreciated his attention to detail, and possibly saving me from an incident if I had kept driving on the current tires. I will definitely use this Big Al's again.

Don't judge a book by its' cover
We have been using this Big Al's location for quite a while and recently had oil dripping under our Sonata. Edwin, the store manager assigned Vinney to look at the car. Vinney examined the situation and pointed out all the possible leak points which were "dry" and then pointed to one of the valve covers which had oil residue. To make a long story short, the place is not pretty but Vinney is a very knowledgeable and careful mechanic. Edwin is a straight shooter and the prices are about as fair as you will find anywhere. The car was repaired without incident and has been leak free and the additional splark plug change etc. have improved the performance of the car. The little details such as pulling the dip stick to show you that the oil is new and the level is full are what make this business special. The other mechanics have done the service maintenance in the past with professional service. I had a friend who is an auto mechanic in the Navy and he told me that he brings his car to this location when he doesn't have the time to work on it himself. You can't get a better compliment than that! Dirk Van Vort

my review got wiped out because it was terrible, my yellow ford LTD still needs shocks after the fool low-ridered it 15 yards a foot at a time into the garage, not knowing, not caring that i had 400 pounds of tools in the trunk, that got a big laugh from the other employees, wanted to charge 600$ from converter back, refused, he had to make money off me somehow, replaced a y-section of pipe, 100 bucks for that.i want my busted 1 1/2 old napa shocks bought and replaced, free of charge, by big als or will hire attorneys, and have that building leveled to the ground. wipe this review off, how do you rate zero? they have my information, they know where and how to reach me.

I have taken my nissan to this shop many times before and never had an issue. However recently it seems like no matter what I take it there for there is always another problem within the next few weeks that's associated with the first problem. They always charge a ridiculous 330$+ fee for the smallest things and sometimes they tell you one price but then another when its time to pay. I am really considering changing shops all together, they don't seem to have the same quality of mechanics as they had before.

I have been to this Big Als many times to service my Hondas, Nissans, and Saab. I am never going to them again. No matter what problem I have with my car, the charge at least $330 to fix any problem. When they first became Big Als there was a nice older gentleman there that would help you out and try to save you money. Now the gentleman there try to charge as much as possible. When the mechanic came out and said that my car didn't need rotors and bearings, the man at the desk kept trying to convince him that there had to be more wrong with my car. They went on for fifteen minutes going back and forth: one saying theres nothing wrong, the other saying no his bearings much be messed up. After everything was checked and test driven, we agreed we'd get my brakes and struts fixed. Only the struts were replaced. It took about and hour and cost $225 for an hour of labor. I think i could have had the dealer charge cheaper than that. I have bearing put on my HOnda for $150 an hour.
