Provided by YP.comi can't believe all these reviews are negitive! everytime i go in the employees treat me with nothing but respect and cater to my every need.. when i bring in my items to sell they give me full explanations on why they weren't able to buy anything from me and do it in a very friendly way. they have a great selection and are much better than the other plato's i've been to for sure!! the employees are all sweethearts and you can tell they earn every dollar get! you wouldn't be able to pay me enough to go through everyones junk lol. definitely a permanent customer :)

Provided by YP.comIm a frequent shopper at all of the locations. I live closer to Greenbrier, so I decided to take a trip to Plato's one Sunday afternoon to sell them some of my clothes that basically still had the tags on them because I had just purchased them from the same location just DAYS before. When I walked in, I was greeted by a gentleman who is always sooo friendly when I come to this location. I took my belongings to the counter where I was rudely addressed by a worker there named Dree. She looked in her teens and seemed very agitated that day for some reason. Long story short, she refused to buy ALL of my belongings for very vague ( pointless) reasons. I asked to speak to a Mgr because her attitude had gotten noticeably worst. I was directed to call back in the morning to speak to a Mgr & also given the option to come back in the am to resell the SAME items... (crazy huh). So, the next morning I called and got the actual store owner for this location on the phone. I explained my issues that I had the day before with her employee while I was in. She said they would handle the situation & give me a call back. I called back to check on the situation & was blown off again and was never called back.
I have NEVER been so disrespected by employees working "on the clock" in all my life. I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP at this location again. I purposely drive to Lynnhaven or Jefferson Commons to shop & sell now. The customer service sucks & they won't have to worry about getting any of my business ever again...#justsad#

Provided by YPmobileI get the concept but, terrible selection and you might as well give your cloths to the thrift store, unless you need a little ice-cream or gas money.

Provided by YP.comI went to the Plato's Closet on Eden Way with two large bags of clothing to sell, most of it was never worn or worn once and none of it was more than a couple years old. The girls who were working there were very friendly and took my clothing to look through it, telling me there was an hour wait before they could look through my clothes. I was a little disappointed that it would take so long but I chose to look around a bit while waiting. The selection of clothing at this location was completely terrible, the majority of the women's jeans were made up of refuge brand jeans from Charlotte Russe (priced only a few dollars less than they would be if I went across the street to the mall to buy a brand new pair directly from Charlotte Russe) or American Eagle brand jeans, and I only saw a handful of jeans that were not flare leg. The selection of tops and dresses was worse, everything was small brands from stores like Walmart, Target and JC Penney's, and again I probably could have gone to any of those stores and got the same items brand new for the same price, maybe even less. There were a small amount of better items that were scattered throughout the store, but it was a pretty pathetic selection. When they were finally done looking through the items I had brought with me to sell, the girl at the counter told me they could only take 5 items out of the several dozen things I had brought in, and that they could give me $14 for everything, less than $3 for each item. To say the least, I was very disappointed. After visiting the location near Lynhaven mall, this store is just pathetic, they should try harder to be more like their Virginia Beach counterpart.
Dare I say if I had $1 for everytime a customer told me that the products they want to sell were new or only worn once, I'd be very rich. In most cases the clothes are not very trendy, which is why they still have tags on them or show very little wear. Our focus is on trendy hot styles for teen/tweens, and not the basic department stores. I'd also like to add that teh majority of our selection of jeans is Skinny Leg and Straight Leg and I'd be very surprised if we had more than 3 pair of Flare Jeans. We try to please all of our potential customers, and if our store is not suitable for them, and they want to patronize any of the other Plato's closet stores, FANTASTIC!! So long as they are shopping and have a cost saving alternative to the Upscale price stores, they win, and so do we. Each store is independently owned and operated, so duplicating others is not what we are after. We strive to satisfy our local customers expectations.
