Established in 1967, John Tyler Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and one of the leading community colleges in Virginia. The college offers more than 50 in-demand career and technical programs to over 10,000 students. It employs nearly 500 staff members. The college is a part of the Virginia Community College System and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It organizes a variety of cultural and educational events, including blood drives and taking part in the American Heart Association Heart Walk. The college operates an information center, as well as offers various associate degree programs.
