Beware of the prices and services! While their facilities are nice, you do pay an arm and a leg for it! I just paid $347! For example, when I dropped off 3 of my pets today, I forgot that they were due for their additional bordatella vaccines (the vaccines are good for a year but they required 2 per year with the flu shots and heartworm bloodwork, etc....). They informed me that they need them as I dropped them off for daycare on my way to work. Long story short, since I was going to work and couldn’t get them to my vet that am, I just told them to do them there. Later that afternoon they inform me that all 3 off them need a wellness exam AND bordatella vaccines AND fecal check—-and informed me that if I didn’t want them done, that I would need to pick them up right then since they couldn’t stay. Well, since I was at work, what choice did I have? What made it worse, was that 2 of my 3 dogs had a full physical 3 weeks prior, which the resort wouldn’t accept! When I talked the manager about it, they stated it is for the well-being for the pet and when “we” (people) get vaccines from places other than their own PCP, they too need a “wellness” exam. I am a RN and clearly that is not true, since vaccines are offered at drug stores. Seriously? So insulting.

Kennel Cough, Really?!

We have been boarding and using daycare at WCPR for 4 years. This year has been horrible! Took our Rascal in this mornig for boarding so we could catch a flight. As soon as we arrived at the airport we receive a phone call from a hysterical staff member saying he has kennel cough. Really? From 8:30 to 12:30 he developed kennel cough. He was on a leash and not a harness...hense the cough. First, the groomer shaved him and now this. What's the problem WCPR? New staff? BTW we've been home for a few hours and not a cough, runny nose or even a sign of kennel cough. Moving on! We will not be returning to WCPR!

Hard to get a reservation

I purchased a daycare package, and can never use it because they give all of the spots to boarders. I was told it would be a month before they would have room again. You would think by spending hundreds on a package, I would at least be able to get him in.

This facility's staff has always been cordial and helpful with understand my various pets' needs. I have boarded Chewy (1577FF) many times in the past few years. He seems happy to go and happy when I come home.

First and foremost - we are a military family. Our 8 year old dog has been boarded several times and is no stranger to the whole boarding process. That being said - my husband and I will NEVER use this boarding facility again.

We dropped our dog off for a long weekend and when we picked her up on Monday afternoon the woman behind the desk fielding questions did not seem to know much about our dog's stay. We asked how our dog did and typically in pet resorts they are very quick to give you a run down of how your animal did (ie if they didn't eat much, if they played a lot etc.). The woman was clueless about how our dog spent her time. Our dog also had a vet visit that included blood work and when the paperwork was handed to us there were abnormalities noted yet nobody could explain what they were. We were told to leave our phone number and the vet would contact us that night - which never happened. I had to call back, annoyed, the next day seeking clarification. Also, nobody said a word about the blood work that was done, I had to seek those results out myself also.

The worst part of this experience was when we were leaving. We waited for the boarding staff to bring our dog out to us and when they appeared they stuck out a very large black plastic bag full of our dog's bedding that was covered in dog excrement. Never. In my life. Have I paid to board my animal and been handed back soiled bedding. How long was she without her bedding? Why didn't they clean this for us? More importantly - my dog was crate trained and has NEVER, and I repeat NEVER pooped on her bed or blankets. Did someone just not let my dog out? Because I paid $250 to make sure my dog was let out while I was gone over the weekend but here I am getting handed dog poop covered beds and blankets. Worst part? We had to stuff the dog poop covered bedding into our SUV which was full of snow gear from our weekend. But that's not it. We carried her bed out to the car as well as the bag full of poop and her bed was SOAKED in urine. I feel as though this boarding facility never let my dog use the restroom.

If I would have wanted my dog to poop and pee all over herself and her bedding then I would have locked her in my house and left her alone for 3 days. I'll never spend my money in this boarding facility ever again.
