I've been a member of Good Shepherd since August 1986. I LOVE this church. Of all the churches I've visited in North America (and, belive me, I've done A LOT of traveling) Good Shepherd is BY FAR my favorite. 1 fair warning: if you want a church that comforts you: Good Shepherd WILL do that. But not in the way most folks expect. Their Pastor (David Michael Ulm) will cut you into pieces with sorrow and knowledge of how your sin saddens God. BUT THEN comes Absolution. Where ALL your sins you are truey sorry 4 comes. Personally I say a prayer during church that God leads me to TRUE sorry 4 all my sins. Pastor Ulm is NO slave 2 "post-modern" theology. He tries as much as he can to do church the way the 1st Century Christians did and the Martin Luther (1483-1546) would've wanted it done. We have kneelers in the pews. We chant. We do processions of the cross and Gospel processional. MANY Lutheran Churches out there do "Traditional" services. But Good Shepherd goes far beyond that. Some have called us Catholic. And, thought the Catholic Church has it's faults. It is still the mother church and the defender of the faith for over 1400 years. I would highly recommend Good Shepherd to ANYONE, Christian, athiest, agnostic, or ANY religious view.
