The Department of Environmental Engineering preserves, protects and restores the chemical, biological and physical integrity of streams and rivers in Chesterfield County, Va. It works with citizens, businesses, engineering communities and developers. The department is comprised of various operation teams, such as planning review, drainage maintenance operations, and street signs fabrication and installation. It provides maintenance and supervision of street signs, erosion control inspection and program administration. The department s plan-review team reviews development plans for commercial sites and subdivisions. Its engineers review more than 200 new plans and over 450 revised plans annually. The department s drainage maintenance operations team performs a wide variety of maintenance functions on drainage facilities.
