Dr. Todd A. Goodglick, MD
5454 Wisconsin Ave Ste 950, Chevy Chase, MD 20815
Dr. Goodglick has been at practicing in the Washington DC area since 1995. He is a specialist who is certified in both Oculoplastic and Orbital surgery and Neuro Ophthalmology.
Oculoplastic surgery deals with issues related to the eyelids, tear ducts and facial structures around the eyes. This includes both cosmetic concerns such as wrinkles, lid drooping and puffiness as well as diseases and problems such as tearing, eyelid and facial skin cancers, facial spasms and thyroid eye disease (Graves’ disease).
Cosmetic eyelid surgeries and more minimally invasive cosmetic procedures routinely used include Botox, fillers, blepharoplasty (lid lifts) and laser skin resurfacing aimed at facial rejuvenation.
Functional procedures that are routine to his practice include eyelid surgeries to biopsy and remove growths around the eyes, ptosis (droopy lid) surgery, and situations when the lids do not close or protect the eye adequately. In addition, he has uniquely extensive experience in treating diseases around and behind the eye including tumors and trauma.
The specialty of Neuro Ophthalmology deals with problems related to the nerves and structures connected to the eye that can affect vision and cause symptoms such as double vision and loss of vision.
His combination of specialties, still quite unique amongst physicians, allows a more thorough and detailed assessment of eye and facial conditions and accounts for the referral base of Dr. Goodglick’s practice from colleagues in metropolitan DC, the Mid Atlantic area and throughout the world.
He is recognized as an effective and dedicated teacher by the residents and students who work with him weekly, as well as doctors in the area and the physician members of the American Academy of Ophthalmology who have heard his numerous lectures.
