Provided by YP.comStay the hell away from this place. The ICU caregivers were very inexperienced, was very unattentive, lazy, and sloppy. They didn't follow the doctors orders for therapy, Our patient was, per doctors orders, to be gradually, start respiratory theraphy shortly after surgery. sitting up in bed, then sitting on side of bed, then start walking. The therapy was not started until late the following day and only after asking the nurse why therapy hd not started did any atempt of therapy start. Even then the supposed therapist did not know how to operate a essiential part of the respiratory theraphy. Our patient was laying flat on back for over 24 hours after surgery, then the nurse decided to go ahead and sit our patient up on the side of the bed, she then decided that after 10 minutes of sitting on the side of the bed it was okay to have our patient try and get up and walk to chair. Our patient tried telling the nurse that this was to much to soon and that this was supposed to be graduall. The nurse contiuned and the end result was a CODE BLUE being call on our patient. The blood pressure dropped significatlly and our patient passed out. The nurse appeared to not know how to repond to a passed out patient so she caled a code blue. Thank god someone that responded to the CODE BLUE knew what and why our patient passed out and got our patient back.. The nurses did not reset the iv alarms for hours on end, didnt give prescrided medications on time, lied about giving medications, left needles laying on the floor of the room, didnt empty bedpans for several hours, left food trays laying around, one caregiver even tried giving our patient a bath at 3 am and then left our patient alone and naked for a supposed fire drill, didnt return for 30 minutes. To sum up our overall experience at St James Chicago Heights, Il LEAVES VERY MUCH TO BE DESIRED !!!
