American Bar Association
321 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60654
Established by the American Bar Association in 1942 and chartered as a nonprofit corporation, American Bar Endowment was designed to receive gifts and bequests, produce an income-producing fund and distribute grants to promote justice through education and scientific research in the field of law. One of the largest sources of funds for the American Bar Endowment is the contribution of insurance dividends by members of ABA. Each year the organization makes grants to support research, public service and educational projects in the field of law through the activities of the ABA's Fund for Justice and Education, and the American Bar Foundation. The endowment has offered grants to various ABA entities, including Center on Children and the Law, Commission on Legal Problems of the Elderly, Commission on Women in the Profession, Commission on Opportunities for Minorities in the Profession, Center for Professional Responsibility, Center for Continuing Legal Education, and National Judicial College. American Bar Endowment is located in Chicago.
