Provided by YP.comAmerican United Taxi was informed for 3 days that we needed a Taxi at 4:45am. Then on the the day of, we called at 4:00am, and the operator is explaining that the order is still processing!!! They knew this order was an emergency, yet they treated it as a last minute order. We eventually walked to the Blue Line, and we vow to make know what a crap company this is. Wake the Hell up and do your job!!! I would bet dollars to doughnuts the Taxi driver had a hangover, and couldn't find his car keys. I had seen 3 "Blue Cabs" drive by and decided to still wait for this American United crap company.
BEWARE: DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED TO BE ON TIME.
USE BLUE CAB, OR 303 TAXI, ONLY !!!

Provided by YP.comDANGEROUS SCAMMING DRIVER!! Apologies for the long story, but please read and beware of this company! Cab driver said he couldn’t take credit cards AS WE PULL UP TO AIRPORT. That’s ILLEGAL and additionally, he told us AT the airport, not before we got into cab. We had cash so we thought it was fine, but here’s the story. My 2 friends get out at a separate terminal, they hand me $30 (in form of a ten dollar bill and a twenty dollar bill) and the driver takes me to my terminal. He then TURNS OFF THE METER, as in, it goes completely BLANK, not re-set, completely OFF. The total was thirty something right before he did this (from downtown, I’ve done this hundreds of times, that is usually the going rate) and the driver says the total is $49.50. I said that doesn’t seem right, it was JUST $30 something. He insists. So I give him $50 (in the form of 2 $20 bills and a $10 bill) and say sorry I can’t tip (I have no other cash and he SAID no cards). He turns around and said you only gave me $31 and had 1 $20, 1 $10 and 1 $1 bill. THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE. I specifically got $20 cash out to go to the airport with friends, who gave me $30 (the $10 and $20 bill). I had no other bills on me, nothing. There was NO WAY I gave him a single dollar bill with the $10 and $20, NO WAY. I was like no sir I KNOW I gave you $50. 100% positive. He said no you didn’t, so pay me the additional on CREDIT CARD! Ok that was my cue he was completely SCAMING ME. All of a sudden he could take credit?! So I said I’m sorry I don’t have a card but I have more cash in my bag in the trunk (so I could get my bag and get away from this lying scamming crooked idiot). He said I couldn’t get it and I needed to pay the remaining on credit card. So I opened my door and went to trunk to get my bag and get away. It was locked of course. So I started yelling for security. He got out of the driver seat to go shut my door so he could drive away, and when he went back to front seat I wouldn’t let him close his door because I didn’t want him driving away with my belongings. And then what is right UNDER HIS SEAT???? The $20 bill that he has exchanged for the $1. I grabbed the $20 and said open up the trunk right now before you get this. He refused and tried to SHUT THE DOOR ON ME. I HAD TO USE MY WHOLE BODY TO KEEP HIM FROM SHUTTING DOOR AND DRIVING AWAY WITH MY BELONGINGS; it caused bruising on my arm! I was screaming for security and called 911. He then grabbed the $20 from my hand and went and opened the trunk. I grabbed my bag and he sped away as I read his license to the police on the phone. I’ve lived in Chicago 10 years and have NEVER experienced anything like this. This driver will be prosecuted but you should in the meantime, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. There is no way this man hasn’t had similar complaints and he is still employed there. That is so scary and dangerous and I just hope it doesn’t happen again before he gets fired or thrown in jail.
