Provided by YPmobileWent for lunch at Atwood for the total experience. Great location in a historically vital building. Charming interior. Ezcellant service. But the food was mediocre to just plain poor. The appetizer of calamity was passable. The trout salad was terrible including brown tinged apple slices. Microscopic cubes of smoked trout, over toasted corn nuts. Corn nuts? What are they thinking? Greens that were pale pieces of tired, which without a mix of greens is just plain bitter. The gelato had the texture and taste of cheap ice cream with frozen hard berries. Come on folks this is Chicago- prime time, not some suburban or small town hamlet venue trying to be " gourmet". Is it because you get so many tourists, you think you can get away with swill? Shame on you. Overall very limited choices, very uninspired. It is easy to source amazing food in the City. What is the problem? I am so sorry that the special luncheon with my daughter was such a flop.
