I visited Dr. McMahan for the first time . He was absolutely wonderful. I've been suffering from severe chronic allergies, but have had zero help from allergists. I was tested 2 yrs ago and all my tests returned negative, but my allergy continues. My allergist told me the only solution I had was to use a salt water nasal spray. Well, it didn't help at all. Dr. McMahan listened to my concerns and gave me several options to try out as a means for relief. He wants to see me in the next month to see how that option is working out. His hope and his desire to want to solve my issue was greatly appreciated. though i am still on the process of treatment but I can fee the ease and hoping it will be totally healed soon.

I met with Dr. McMahan several times and ultimately I did have an outpatient surgery with him. He must be a really great surgeon -- my recovery has been amazingly easy and I felt almost no pain afterwards. What you read here and on other sites is true -- Dr. McMahan is exceptionally competent, kind, and responsive. He does not try to push care you don't need on you, and he makes himself available to you for any questions at all.

I had been going to him for awhile. I became very ill with viral encephalitis . I had been in a coma and was intubated and had a nasal feeding tube, and because of this I developed a sinus infection. I was in a wheelchair and could not walk, and I was wheeled into his waiting room by my husband. After being there a few minutes, Dr. McMahan came out into the waiting room with comforting voice that I will be ok.

I have recommended him to lots of people and everyone has been very pleased with him."

I went there for a second opinion regarding an upcoming septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery. The staff was friendly and helpful, the office was equipped with advanced technology, the nurse asked all relevant questions to make sure all my concerns are addressed with the doctor, and the doctor patiently listened to and addressed each of my questions and concerned. I usually ask a lot of questions and over analyze the issues, and that makes some doctors uncomfortable. I did not feel rushed or uncomfortable when talking to Dr. McMahan and I felt like I was discussing my issues with a friend. I feel much calmer and more confident about my surgery after speaking with Dr. McMahan. I would definitely recommend him!

Dr. McMahan is a true personal advisor . He takes the time to listen to your problem and take corrective action to fix not just the symptoms but also identify the root cause. I had some trouble with my ears and he solved the issue very efficiently The office decor is something you would expect at a doctor's office and the customer service level of the staff is average; however, he makes the experience enjoyable and worthwhile. If you have any issues with your ear, nose, or throat then Dr. McMahan is the answer.

His staff was very accomodating when I had to reschedule and, during my second visit, Dr. McMahan helped me find a prescription that was cheaper than the one originally prescribed. If you're looking for an ENT doctor on the Westside, you won't find one better than him."

After having a plugged ear for over a week and being on antibiotics for over a week, I sought a ENT specialist. After doing an extensive search for an ENT that accepted my insurance and didn't specialize in cosmetic surgery, I finally found Dr. McMahan. While I only had fluid in the ear, he outlined my three options of treatment. I opted for the nasal spay prescription and he let me know if that didn't work I could call him and could prescribe something else. Luckily what he prescribed worked and I could finally hear now. Thank you so much.

"Words cannot explain how I feel about Dr.McMahan. I've had nasal problems for as long as I remember. Sinus infections at leasts 3 times a year and have been to numerous doctors along the years. No one was able to fix my problem... I tried Doctor McMahan a few weeks ago. HIs office is so updated, he's so knowledgeble and gave me the different options I had. I had a deviated septum, pollyps and had a sinus problem so he was able to identify everything, we went with the surgery option last week. He made this experience so much better than I thought. He really REALLY cares about his patients, the staff is nice and he listens!!! Am now breathing better and we are also going to continue an allergy treatment. Like I said, words can't explain how I feel but simply said the BEST!!!

"I have been a patient of Dr. John McMahan for over 2 years, suffering from chronic severe sinus infections. Dr. McMahan – which seemed odd for a surgeon – did not push ne toward a surgical solution to the problem. He approached my issues with a methodical assessment and treatment strategy, including evaluating a variety of possible causes for my symptoms, including allergies, gastroestophageal reflux (GERD), etc. Only after ruling out other causes and treatments did we, jointly, arrive at the decision that I should consider sinus surgery. The surgery and follow-up went fine. Dr. McMahan is a confident practitioner who is also humane, personal, forthright and thorough. I would definitely recommend him to anyone suffering from nasal or sinus problems.
