Provided by YP.comI called and asked if they would fix my tie rods. I have the highest quality parts and just needed him to put the parts on my car and Eliot said point blank. He has his own parts and makes money off the customers that way. He is all about
greed. His first response is to make money off the customer. Its not enough they get the fee to fix the car . They need to make triple of the parts. Avoid at all cost . If they wont put on your parts that are of high quality. They are just in it
to make money off of you . Go to a reputable place that doesnt want to make money anywhere they can. After I confronted him on his greed. He gave me another excuse of why they do that. AVOID.
I'm told honest is the best policy. Well.. not for this customer...."He has his own parts and makes money off the customers that way." Dah! I work 60 hours a week and this not a charity. There are two reasons I don't install someone else's parts. 1. Obviously I need to make a profit to pay my bills. I rely on the profit margins on the parts and on the labor to pay these bills. This customer wanted me to use their parts, thereby reducing me profit margins (which are not very high) below my cost of doing business.... This means I'd lose money working on their car. Why whould I do that??? 2. If you bring me a part, and it breaks while I'm installing it, who is responsible? The parts store will say I did not install it properly, and I'll say it was a defective part - this has happened to me. If the part breaks 2 months after I install it, while the part is warranteed, my labor is not warranteed, hence, you'll pay twice for the labor. Customers don't want to pay twice (this has happened to me.) Lets say the part you bring me is the wrong part. Your car is on my lift, the old part has been removed, and your car can't be moved. You tell me you'll be back in an hour while you get another part. Who is going to pay for the time your car is on my lift? I had this happen may times. Bringing your parts to a mechanic, is like bringing your ground beef, onions, a potatoes to a restaurant and asking them how much they'll charge you to cook your food.
