Forteza is kind of amazing. It's unlike any other gym or martial arts school I've ever visited; you walk in and you feel like you've stepped back a century or three (or five). Here's a group of students training in medieval Italian sword-fighting, over there's a class in Bartitsu, which is a mixed martial art from 19th century England. In the personal training area at the back of the studio, people are lifting kettlebells and hauling around massive ropes and truck-tires.



The staff and instructors are very experienced and friendly and there's a really interesting mix of students/members. IMO Forteza appeals best to imaginative, creative people who like a bit of history mixed in with full-on workouts.
