Gina Jabbour, MD, joined the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine, at the George Washington University (GW) Medical Faculty Associates in January 2022 as an academic hospitalist and assistant professor. Dr. Jabbour is originally from the DC area and completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at GW. She subsequently pursued her residency in internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Following completion of her training, Dr. Jabbour relocated to New York, where she worked as a hospitalist and assistant professor at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell. Dr. Jabbour was involved in resident and medical student education during her time in New York. She was nominated by the division chair for a faculty development program, Leadership in Academic Medicine, which she completed in June 2019. Dr. Jabbour subsequently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as a hospitalist at Ascension Saint Thomas West and as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, while maintaining an adjunct role at Weill Cornell. Dr. Jabbour has engaged in clinical research relating to the use of virtual reality as an adjuvant tool for pain and anxiety in the inpatient setting and, subsequently, the use of virtual reality as a rehabilitation tool during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Jabbour moved back to the DC area, where she returns to her alma mater as a faculty member. Dr. Jabbour is highly interested in quality improvement and medical resident education, with a specific interest in effective communication for the enhancement of patient care. She is committed to the delivery of high-quality patient care and looks forward to continuing her role as an academic and career hospitalist.
