Provided by YP.comI patronized Global Kitchen restaurant with my book club sisters on Sunday June 4th, 2017. We will all eager to experience the unique decor and delicious food we read about in various reviews.
We called ahead because we had a large party (9) and whoever answered the phone insisted that they were able to accommodate/serve our group. When we arrived, we were told someone would be with us and then hostess stand was unmanned for almost 10 minutes. We were seated & given menus by the manager. Nevertheless, we still didn't have our orders after 1.5hrs & over four (4) separate requests.
Why didn't we leave? Honestly, we were discussing our book and lost track of time until someone noticed that we hadn't received water/ beverages or appetizers.
To add insult to injury, the manager was particularly obstinate when the poor service was brought to her attention. Moreover, she had the audacity to insist that the group pay gratuity for poor service & mediocre food.
The best features of this restaurant are the fried catfish, garlic bread, and unique interior decor; each room has a different theme/style. Unfortunately, we had to take ourselves on a wandering tour of rooms because neither of the wait staff nor the manager even mentioned the rooms let alone offered to showcase those spaces.
Needless to say, I was grossly disappointed, underwhelmed, and totally disinterested in returning. At least five (5) other parties walked in and walked out because no one seated them or served them in the event that they seated themselves.

Provided by YP.comI had the pleasure of eating at Global Kitchen for breakfast. When I walked in, I was impressed with the theme of the restaurant. The world clocks hung on the walls, keeping time from Chicago to Paris. The African art and hand carved wooden wildlife, brightened up the place. The floors were clean and we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. The owner, a very sweet African American woman, introduced herself and made us feel right at home. She showed us her rooms around the world and I must say this is a great place to catch up with friends, have an intimate dinner with your significant other, or family. I enjoyed the Paris room with the telephone booth and Art. After the tour, my friend and I sat and ordered our breakfast. I was in great company so the wait for our food didn't seem that long. However, if you have small children, I recommend bringing coloring books or IPad to keep them busy. When the food arrived, it was piping hot and smelled great. The taste was so succulent, my pancakes were fluffy and moist. My bacon was crisp, not chewy and not scraps. And the waiter was very attentive. Over all the food was superb and the service was great. This is a place that will be well worth the wait!
