Established in 1962, The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago is a religion-based educational organization. It was formed by the merger of Augustana Theological Seminary, Grand View Seminary, Chicago Lutheran Theological Seminary, and Suomi Theological Seminary. The school is a seminary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and offers master s degrees in art, divinity and theology. The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago also provides a dual-degree program that includes master of art in social work from the University of Chicago. It administers the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest, which is an educational enterprise sponsored by Wartburg Theological Seminary. The school maintains a language resource and writing center and a library. The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago maintains Augsburg Fortress Bookstore, which offers books, music, gifts, clergy shirts and apparel.
