Nice local joint for catching a game on their many screens and grabbing a bite to eat. I recommend going with the pizza.

Impressive pizza in the Hood

4.25 Stars. This was our second visit picking up and bringing the pizza home. Nancy and I ordered the "Michael's Special" which is cheese, sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion. An important point worthy of note is that it was as consistently good this time as it was last time. This being the case we felt a review appropriate. We ordered a medium (14 in?) thin crust and there was enough left for another person had one been present to join us. Everything was fresh and the pizza sauce was especially good with a characteristic signature of sweet properly proportioned.

Though the title states Pizzeria before Tavern if you didn't know better you would mistake it for a sports bar, with a long bar and over 20 large screen television sets positioned all over the premises.

For me to rate 4 stars - particularly with all the pizza places that abound in Chicago is unusual, if the drinks are as good as the pizza I can see myself hanging out here on the less than frequent occasions I have some free time.

Best pizza I've tried

I've had fun telling all my friends who love DiAugistino's and Pequads to come out with me one night and give the pepsi challenge to Michael's. It never fails, all our friends say wow, this is fricking awesome. They're in my neighborhood and have become the absolute go to when my wife and I get pizza now. In a city known for Pizza this place is the best I've had and it's cheap. If you go there it's a really cool bar with tons of tv's, free pool table, golden tee, the works. It's certainly blue collar and a little rough around the edges but I'll take a place I can go to with 6 people, drink as much as we want and get a huge pizza and drop $10-$15 a piece. Give it a try and you write a review on it, I'll bet you right now it's some of the best pizza you've had in Chicago.

THIS IS THE BEST

I'M SO GLAD THAT I DISCOVERED MICHAEL'S. THEIR PIZZA IS ALWAYS HOT AND TASTY WITH A DELICIOUS THIN CRUST AND THE BEST CHEESE. WHETHER ORDERING OUT OR DINING IN, THE SERVICE IS FRIENDLY AND THE PIZZA IS ALWAYS HOT. IF YOU LEAVE IN THE BOYS TOWN/UPTOWN AREA, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CHECK OUT THIS GREAT SPORTS BAR/PIZZARIA!
