I took my 1998 Chevy van to new star transmissions for a engine replacement and Jessie the service manager quoted me a price of $2500 hundred dollars to replace the engine and when he did he informed me that my brakes were also bad and it will be another 300 for that so when I went to pick up the vehicle the brakes were still going all the way to the floor and the van was not running that well and on top of that he tried to charge me $700 hundred dollars for storage fees when all along he is parking customers cars on the street and charging $40 dollars a day for storage when i got my van home it would not star the next day so i called Jessie and told him what was going on he told me i needed a fuel pump and i asked him why didn't he tell me about the fuel pump while the van was still in the shop and he said he did tell me which he did not and he tries to cover up a lot of his lies by saying I told you, after he refuse to come and pick the van back up i told him that i was going to contact my lawyer and a few minutes later he called me back asking me where was the van so he can send someone to pick it up and after he had it for almost a week he called me asking why is my van there like he had totally forgot so after he checked it he told me it would be another $800 dollars to fixed what was wrong i refused to give him another pennyhe wanted to charge me $120 dollars towing fee and $95 dollars for rechecking what they had already messed up when i called AAA to go and pick up the van Jessie told the driver that he didn't know anything about the van and he didn't have the keys anyway which caused me to lose one of my calls from AAA come to find out he had parked the van three blacks away, I strongly advise everyone to please do not take your vehicle to New Star Transmissions because they are a big rip off and Jessie the service manager is a bid Lier the customers who had a good experience must be a relative or a white race because they try and make a fool out of black people

I took my 2008 Chevy Impala for the transmission to be fix because my car did move. I had it tow to the shop, they rebuilt my transmission and 6 months later they re built my engine on my 04 jeep liberty and still runny good as new. never had a problem with them. Jessi the manager had very good customer service and treated me very well. they worked on my moms and my uncles car too. I recommended lots of friends and family there and the service was just great.

Turn down another shop because there offer was $200.00 cheaper and they offered a free tow a week later there quote jump up to $2000.00 and they kept my deposit

dont go there. their customer service is terrible, they told me it will cost me $990. to repair my car once they have my car I had a phone call it will cost me $2300 I told them DONT DO ANYTHING TO MY CAR I will take it somewhere else so they wanted me to pay to get my car out over $500.00 so I had to call the police for help And I Finally got my car out pay $455.00 so dont go there.

They first tried to get me for additional repairs that they claimed were needed. So I showed up there that day for them to show me the crack in the head they first kept making excuses that they could not get a open lift to jack the car up on. I waited 2 hours I finally said to them. Apparently there must have been a mistake lets just stick with your original quote for the original repairs. I should have taken my car then they are not honest and they do not stand behind their work.

I have a 2003 jetta that was having issues with shifting, well i thought i did. I took it to NEW STAR TRANSMISSIONS after calling a few places and realizing that most shops wont even come near my volkswagen i brought it in and turns out my mass air flow sensor! easily they could have said transmission overhaul but they were honest and im truly appreciated due to the fact that im a college student with a fixed income thanks would and is recommending people here

Am grateful for New Star transmission for their great service and for fixing my car, I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

They were friendly and knowlegdable from the beginning. I have a 2003 BMW 745i and i was having transmission problems. I took it to the dealer to get it checked out. They advised me i needed a transmission overhaul. They quoted me AROUND $6,500. They told me they needed to dissassemble it and check it and then they would give me a total. I called New Star Transmission and they told me they would diagnosis it for free and give me a call. Jessie towed my car out of the dealer and didn't charge me. Jessie gave me a call and advised me it did need the overhaul. They quoted me around $2,600. I told them to go ahead. My total for the overhaul was $3,200 because it needed a valve body and it needed to be reprogrammed. I was really satisfied with the repairs and the customer service. I would recommend them to anyone trying to save money and time. My family and friends have gone there and had a great experience as well.

Not only did I over pay to have my transmission replaced, but it took 3 times in and out of the shop over 2 months to get the transmission THEY put in to seemingly work properly. They gave me a 30 day warranty, but when the trans stopped working all together, within that time, they didnt want to fix their work.Now it is 3 months later and the transmission they put in is having the same problems it was when they "fixed it". I brought it to a new shop, who I highly recommend, that says the trans New Star put in may not be the right trans for my car and not only did they over charge me for the horrible work they did, they did not correctly fix the problem.This place is full of manipulators (Jessie) who take no accountability for the poor quality of service, parts, and customers time and money they waste. So in other words, Don't go here if you want your car to work properly and leave with your sanity and wallet fully intact. The ONLY way I will return is to get my money back.

My name is Jackie valasquz and i took my 04 vw jetta with a transmission problem. jessie the service manager and his staff did a really great job with rebuilding my transmission. This my third car getting repaired at new star transmission, been going there for 8 yrs and wont trust anyone else with my car.

I took my 2007 dodge caravan to new star transmission and they rebuilt my transmission at a great price. Jessie, the customer service manager was very professional and provided great service. I sent my mom with her nissan and my bestfriend with her car as well. My mother thought she had a transmission problem but all it needed was an adjustment and i'm so glad that they didn't rip off my mom. Thank you so much Jessie, I will keep on sending all my friends and family to your shop..

To the General Public who are looking for a transmission repair... please don't go to NEW STAR TRANSMISSION, they will riff your wallet off. Jessie, who manage and provide you the estimate will try to give you a very reasonable estimate that you can't believe it's true and he very sound convincing. Then after they towed your vehicles and they have it in their shop, Jessie will call you again and tell you that estimated price that he provided you earlier is wrong and this time he will give the much much higher estimate in which case you have no more escape to pull out your vehicle because he will charge you anyway even if you have your vehicle fixed ot not. SO Please don't go to this shop to save you a lot of money and trouble.Report all your experienced to the BBB Better Business Bureau.

i took my car there they gave me an estimate of $1,200 i told jesi to go ahead and do the job, but few hrs later

he call me and told me it was going to take $3,600 to do

the job. so i told him to put everything back and they took

6 days to do so and ontop of that they charge me $600.

so please dont go there.

my experience is very similar to the review by Dichilius82 so i will spare you the details. i was in for one problem which was fixed BUT only after another part which was related to the original problem failed less than 24 hours. so basically got charged twice for labor and not to mention losing my car another day. maybe they should focus strictly on transmission repair like they advertise. i suppose it could have been an honest but expensive mistake. the receptionist seem nice.

I know that my experience with this place was pretty bad. I do know that they did fix my car and it's been working pretty well since then, but how they did it is truly disturbing. I know that they originally told me that there was a problem with my transmission and that it would cost me around $1000 to fix, but later they called me and told me that there was another part that was broken and that that would cost me an additional $500. My problem is that they already had started working on my car and they said that it would cost me $1000 regardless and if I didn't get the new part that I wouldn't be able to have any type of warranty. I know that I personally would never go there again, but if you choose to...good luck.
