Provided by YP.comCambridge is an island of excellence in a sea of mediocrity! We were looking for a school that would give our child a rigorous academic education as well as a strong spiritual education. Cambridge was the only school which had that winning combination. It's not perfect (and in our experience no school is), but the staff work hard and the students at this school are happy.

Provided by YP.comCambridge teaches 1-2 grade levels ahead. When my children moved to the next grade at another school, they were being taught material that they had already learned at Cambridge. This works for me. My 6th grader had an ACT composite score of 16!!

Provided by YP.comThis is my son's 1st school experience. We felt the love and care from his teacher from the minute we walked into the classroom for a visit. The teacher's assistant even felt more like family that someone "working" for the school. We have been blessed this 1st year and my son has grown leaps and bounds educationally and in his appreciation and knowledge of God. The bible teacher was exceptional in helping him (at age 4) embrace memorizing scripture and understanding (for his age) how to see God in everyday life! These aspects have been edifying for our whole family!

Provided by YP.comOne of the best schools I have seen in the Chicago area. Strong parental involvement, great leadership. The Cambridge school is a one of a kind school.

Provided by YP.comThis is great school. I am happy to know its founder. I highly recommend this elementary school. The school has a solid foundation, excellent academic program, and is the MOST successful private, elementary school in the city.

Provided by YP.comI have been at Cambridge for five years. Prior to selecting Cambridge, I visited various schools. This school has a solid foundation. The leadership is strong. The teachers demonstrate great patience and excellence. Students are attentive and excited about the learning. My child came to the school very shy. She has had to stand before her class and present research projects, speak at assemblies, and participate in various programs. She is now confident, poised, and far more vocal. Her self-esteem is higher as a result of the environment at Cambridge. I could not have chosen a better environment. I see where their graduates are going to high school and it makes me even more impressed. I am thankful to Mr. Barber for founding the school. I am thankful to the PreK, K, 1st and 2nd grade teachers for their efforts. I highly recommend this place for your child.

Provided by YP.comI have three children at Cambridge. One has graduated and another graduates this year and the other is in the grammar school. They teach one to two grade levels ahead and my children consistently test two to three grade levels ahead on standardized tests in math, language arts, and reading comprehension. I especially love the parental community. They are very supportive and close knit like a family. The teachers are passionate about learning. The administration supports the effort to constantly reevaluate the school's ability to fulfill its mission statement. The Christian emphasis helps to maintain a strong moral environment. Chicago needs more schools like this. These students are going to the best selective enrollment high schools, competing and winning in academic competitions, and they are producing very cordial and intelligent students. I love this school.

Provided by YP.comMy child went there for the first grade and I transferred her out for the second. There were numerous reasons, the most salient being that some of the teachers there, in particular the one for her class, aren't even certified. Not only that, they're inexperienced. My daughter's teacher was in her first year and not certified to teach. This fact was not made known to me until later in the school year after I (along with many other parents) expressed grave concern over the poor teaching methodology. This fact contributed greatly to my decision to leave. I mean, even public schools have certified teachers. And here I am paying for someone who's not. 2. Poor leadership. The headmaster there micromanages the place and even his staff members. He's the secretary, principal, headmaster, etc. He doesn't delegate his authority which probably accounts for the large turn-over rate of staff members. They've had 3 different administrators in the past 3 years. Enough said.. 3. Lack of resources. The building where the school is located is very old, dilapidated. My daughter had to get treated for allergies which I strongly believe was caused by the mold in their gym; they have no books - everything is photocopied; no library or computer lab. Again, if you're going to a public school, then all of this may be acceptable. But if you're paying good money for tuition, don't waste your money or time.
