I am a transplant so this was a gem of a find! If you love the smell of old books and the hunt for that unique find this is the place for you! Even if you like newer indie books..if they don't have it these guys will get it for you. Fan and customer for life!

Best comic book store in the world !!!
I have going there for 30yrs. & now I take my kids there.
Often imitated, never duplicated. They've been a staple in Chicago for 40yrs.

I stopped by this comic store recently (it���s the one with the spider-man and hulk painted on the outside) and found it to be creepy, there's no other word I can use besides creepy to describe it. You step down into a grubby basement store, very old school. It���s not very well lit and the person behind the counter just basically stares at you while you walk around the store looking at things. It���s not a huge store by any means and it looks dirty. As for selection, they carry a good assortment of Marvel and DC comics, but his indy selection was not very good. They had a OK selection of older back issues but their prices were a bit high by my estimation. Also, there selection of trades was, really, not much of a selection. The person behind the counter was not really that friendly and gives you that ���child molester��� vibe if you know what I mean. All in all, not a very good comic store and I won���t be going back again���ever.
