Butte County Office of Education serves as an intermediary between the state and local school districts. It comprises Bangor Union Elementary, Biggs Unified, Chico Unified, Durham Unified, Feather Falls Union Elementary, Golden Feather Union Elementary, Gridley Unified and Manzanita Elementary School Districts. The office helps its schools with implementation of programs, provides fiscal oversight, monitors teacher credentialing, supplies curriculum support and training. It offers an array of programs, such as special education, independent study, community schools, juvenile court community schools, child development and regional occupational programs and administers a variety of state and federally funded grant programs and services. Located in 1859 Bird Street, Oroville, Calif., Butte County also offers Migrant Education and California Mini-Corps programs.
