Dr. James Peters opened the Chillicothe Animal Clinic in 1976. He started the clinic with himself and 1 other employee to care for the needs of the pets of Chillicothe. Since that time, Chillicothe Animal Clinic, Inc. has grown to include 3 full-time veterinarians and nearly 20 support staff! Dr. Peters retired in 2012 and Dr. Petzel and Dr. Picklesimer purchased the practice, and it now operates officially under its new corporate name, New Chillicothe Animal Clinic, Inc. Veterinary medicine is constantly evolving, and the clinic has seen many changes over the past 30 plus years. Technology has changed the way we evaluate and treat your pet's condition. We pull x-rays up on a computer. We monitor heart rate, oxygen level, blood pressure, and temperature during surgeries. We can test eye pressures to check for eye problems. We can administer oxygen therapy using our intensive care unit. We can do lab work in the clinic and have results within a matter of minutes. The list goes on and on, and we try to keep our list of equipment growing. Technological advances have definitely changed veterinary medicine and allow us to give better care and obtain better diagnoses for your other family members. We are proud of the accomplishments of CAC over the past decades. We have cared for thousands of animals and found a lot of friends in their owners. We thank all of you who allow us to care for your pets, and we thank those of you who are considering us to care for your other family members in the future. Please let us know if you have any questions about our clinic or the services we provide. We are Your Other Family Doctors.

We used to go to Dr. peters originally and he was just fantastic. Now that he's retired we go to the other doctors and they are just as great.

When I rescued my dog Jake, Dr. Pickleseimer was the very first doctor to see him. I wouldn't have taken him anywhere else.

One thing that is really nice about this clinic is that I always have a quick office visit. They are efficient and give your animals the care they need.

These guys are awesome. They always tell me the truth...I always ask, "what would you do?", and they tell me their honest opinion every time. I've been going here for a while now, and I just keep going back because they're great.

Besides taking care of my pets, Chillicothe Animal Clinic is very understanding and compassionate, and will work with you on treatment costs.

My previous vet I had been seeing didn't really seem to be paying any attention to me and my questions or concerns about my pet. I was recommended to Chillicothe Animal Hospital and the vet there was so much more attentive. I really like them here and feel much more confident about their care.

I have been going to Chillicothe Animal Hospital for a very long time and I have to say, they have the best veterinarians in Ross County.
