Ross D. Meador is an international business and technology attorney with broad experience representing American, Asian and European companies and investors in their domestic and cross-border business operations.  

He practiced law for many years with leading international law firms, including Morrison & Foerster, Howard Rice et al., and most recently as a partner with Preston Gates & Ellis.  He also practiced law in several foreign countries, including six years with Kim and Chang in Seoul, Korea.  Ross is also a Founder and Principal of Advanced Global Connections, LLC, which provides executive training to Asian businesses that operate in the US.

Ross’s international career began in Vietnam.  In 1974, he went alone to Saigon to open a new office for a child welfare organization called Friends of Children of Viet Nam.  His work with orphans in Vietnam and the story of his evacuation from the roof of the US Embassy in Saigon on April 30, 1975, have been described in several books, magazines including People Magazine, television programs including It’s a Miracle, and The History Channel, radio programs including The World and Talk of the Nation and various print and broadcast news stories.  His oral history is featured in the Oakland Museum’s recent exhibit on California during the Vietnam Era.

Ross is also active in the California Bar Association, serving on the Executive Committee of the International Law Section.  He also served as Chairman of the Legal Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and as President of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco.  As a public speaker, he has addressed the State Bar on issues such as International Mergers and Acquisitions, International Ventures for the Old and New Economies, and the Korean Response to the Asian Financial Crisis.  His articles appear in the Journal of the Japan Institute of Overseas Investment and the Asia Venture Capital Journal. 

Ross received his Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of California at San Diego in 1980 and his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley in 1986.
