Ames Textile supplies filament yarns to the woven label industry, hook and loop manufacturers, seat belt weavers, and other specialty end-use customers. Established in 1865, the company has plants in Christiansburg, Va., and Hudson, N.H., and its products include synthetic and Belmont yarns, fabelta rayon and polypropylene, and starlight polyester. Its Christiansburg facility twists quality polyester, nylon, polypropylene, and carbon yarns on latest machines, in climate-controlled conditions. Customers can also select deniers twisted from 3- to 30-turns per inch. Time, temperature, and moisture-controlled autoclaves set the twisted yarns to ensure stable and shrink-resistant final products. Ames Textile delivers products on plastic, shrink-wrapped tubes with net weights of 2-pounds to 6.5-pounds depending on each customer s requirements. In the Hudson facility, the company warps yarns from the Christiansburg plant on latest silk system warping equipment.
