The first public service was on Easter Sunday, April 15th, 2001. That service was held at Cincinnati Country Day School. A group of individuals and families mostly from Indian Hill, Madeira, Mariemont, and Terrace Park. The group grew to 100 or so before the first public service was held. Most are still a part of Horizon and all are happy to see how a small idea with lots of work, prayer, and faith grew. Horizon is not monetarily supported by or otherwise connected with any church or denomination. We are pleased that Crossroads Community Church relates to Horizon as a "partner church" by sharing advice and wisdom when asked. We are also a member of the Willow Creek Association. All of us are at different places in our spiritual life, exploring what it means to have a deeper connection to God. If you've ever tried to walk or drive toward the horizon line, you know it's a continual journey. As we move forward, new sights appear and our perspectives change. The same is true in our relationship with God.
