In 2012, DHL in Hebron, Kentucky was facing a challenge with employee safety during the peak hours of their business. The fast pace nature of their work had their employees thinking more about the necessity of sending packages out without interruption and less about their on the job safety. DHL knew that something needed to be done in order to correct these behaviors and subsequent ways of thinking. They had trained their employees and had enforced proper safety measures within their facility to ensure that accidents and injuries would lessen, but the issues of worker safety still wasn’t fixed. DHL knew something had to be done to prevent injuries and to implement the best procedures to protect their employees. They contacted proActive Safety Services about the possibility of having our safety specialists come to their Hebron, Kentucky facility and observe their workers for an entire week during their peak business time. proActive Safety Specialists observed and made suggestions. A year later, DHL’s facility in Hebron is operating safely and their updated programs and procedures have been adopted by all of their workers. The time spent on site by proActive Safety Services had a profound impact on the way that DHL’s upper management and on the ground crew have been able to work together to rise above their safety issues. proActive’s team was a huge boost to our morale and employee safety. Their knowledge, presence and focus helped us improve our safety program and have allowed us to greatly reduce our accidents and injuries in the past 12 months. Bringing them in to help was a great decision.

Working with Bridget from Proactive Safety Services for eight weeks was successful. During the time Bridget was with us she worked closely with our subcontractors to improve the Daily Task Hazard Analysis. I found Bridget to be self motivated and eager to work with our workers. She is knowledgeable about safety requirements and OSHA regulations. She was very willing to help with any task that was needed, and spent much time walking the site working closely with our workers inspecting, correcting and instructing.
