Top Notch Nursing School!!! I...

Top Notch Nursing School!!! I had started off at a bigger University. I had spent 3 years at this other University and in the first semester of my senior year the instructors there told me that I wasn't cut out to be a nurse. They encouraged me to transfer over to their education department to pursue a degree in Education. Determined to be a nurse and graduate with a BSN, I transferred to the College of Mount St. Joseph. The instructors were so kind and caring and taught nursing concepts and skills in a professional and respectful manner. A manner in which the students actually understood the concepts and skills. In clinical the instructors stood right by you and explained everything and made sure that you had the confidence to carry out the skills. Unlike the other, bigger university that I attended that expected you to read the book and do a few skills in the skills lab and then expect you to function indepently as a nurse in clinical. This other university would actually scauld you for asking questions in clinical and tell you to go read your nursing book and get back to them with the answer. You would actually see students in the break room crying trying to read through the book to answer questions to their clinical instructor. Mount St. Joseph was totally the opposite. They made sure you felt comfortable in the clinical setting and that you could find the answer to your questions and would not only help you find the answer to your questions, but made sure you understood the concepts and rationales of nursing science. The year I graduated Moun St. Joseph, our class had a 100% passage rate on the NCLEX and 100% of us all had jobs right out of college.

-Thanks to the college of Mount St. Joseph, I have been a registered nurse for 19 years now. I served those 19 years in the military and cared for wounded servicemen and women from Iraq and Afghanistan. I have diverse clinical experience and thanks to the College of Mount St. Joseph shool of nursing, I have developed keen assessment and critical thinking skills. And through my 19 years as an RN, I have had to make quick decisions and my keen assessment and clinical skills have saved lives. It all started with the birth of me becoming a BSN RN from the College of Mount St. Joseph School of Nursing.
