United Dairy Farmers is a chain of shops that offers ice cream and other dairy products. It was started by Carl Lindner Sr. and Carl Lindner Jr. in 1938. The first store of United Dairy Farmers was opened in Norwood, Ohio, in 1940. The chain has stores throughout the Greater Cincinnati area, as well as a few stores in Cleveland, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio. Most of the United Dairy Farmers stores also operate gas stations and convenience stores. It also manufactures ice cream under the name Homemade Brand. All frozen products manufactured by United Dairy Farmers, including all Homemade Brand and Homemade Brand Olde Style products, are certified by Kosher Dairy under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Orthodox Union. It maintains various locations in Cincinnati.
