Harvey Mudd College was founded in 1955 by a committee of the Claremont Colleges consortium in cooperation with the family of Harvey S. Mudd. Mudd College is a member of The Claremont Colleges. The college has various academic departments, including biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, humanities and social sciences, mathematics and physics.
