I am an experienced fish keeper but I had never kept fancies before. I checked my LFS and the Big Box pet stores but I was disappointed by the limited selection and appalled by the disregard for the animal's welfare. I had heard of Dandy Orandas on every goldfish website and forum I visited, and even though I've never bought fish online, the rave reviews convinced me to give it a shot. Ken, the owner, was very helpful and answered all my questions. I am not an easy customer but this business has exceeded my expectations. The fish arrived packed to perfection and they have all been very healthy and VERY tame. I was able to hand feed them the first day. No offense to the person who wrote the SINGLE negative review that I've ever seen for Dandy Orandas, but if the fish passed away weeks after receiving it, well, there's no nice way to say this, but that's your fault. I've had 3 shipments now, of quite a few fish, and I've had absolutely zero issues.

DO NOT BUY !!! I have kept fish for 10 years and never had a problem. I bought a pearlscale and it only lasted a a couple weeks. Dandy Orandas does not care about their customers. They are just in it for the money. They won't help you at all! $130 gone! I am just trying to warn people so you save your money. Buy fish from someone who cares about their customers. Dandy Orandas does not!

Best company in the business, as far as, Goldfish are concerned. Great quality, excellent service and a person (Ken) who is not afraid to share his experience and knowledge. Quality fish can be expensive at times, but, you always get what you pay for. Have been a customer for a few years and I have never been disappointed with the product. Good man to work with. You will no better.

I've been a customer since the early 90's when the business was originally owned by the previous owner in Alabama. Then she sold it to the current one, which by the way, has a newer location since I dealt with when the business was still in Ohio. Regardless of the location, I can always be guaranteed with the best and healthiest goldfish money can buy on this side of the farms from China! One might say it's too expensive just for the shipping cost, but, for all the sick and "bug" infested fish you buy at your regular pet stores, it all adds up to the same price! At least the fish from Dandy Orandas are quarantined to insure quality healthy fish! Most regular pet store goldfish are sold as soon as they arrive from overseas for quick sales to the unknowing consumer buyers! The life span from all the fish I've bought from Dandy Orandas are no comparison to your regular pet store ones. Having been a goldfish keeper since the 60's when I first lived in Japan, have taught me the ways of hundred of years of Asian fish keeping traditions, both Chinese and Japanese. It truly comes with experience after so many years of doing it.
